Patient Info
Gender: Female
Procedure: Rhinoplasty
Procedure Description:
Uncommon case of a female patient with a congenitally flat dorsum composed of protruding nasal bones and upper lateral cartilages known as “rhinion horns.” She desired to narrow her bridge and improve the rhinion horns as well as straighten her profile view. Primary rhinoplasty approach was performed. Rhinion horns classically consist of the upper lateral cartilages overlapping the nasal bones. Rasping and osteotomies were performed to narrow her bridge. Care was taken to simultaneously narrow her bridge on the frontal view while lowering her hump on the lateral view. Improvement noted in the most prevalent three quarter view is seen post-operatively.
